The checkerboard is not part of your download. SVG and PDF keep the lettering as vector outlines.

Features, sizes and downloads
What can I customize, and what are the limits?
Arrange up to 40 words or phrases in 16 shapes, including hearts, stars, butterflies and large initials. Each entry accepts up to 30 characters and a weight from 1–5. An 800 × 720 px base exports as PNG up to 3200 × 2880 px at 4×.
The free shapes are heart, circle, star, large initial, cloud, butterfly, flower, hexagon, diamond, triangle, shield, house, speech bubble, arrow, tree and scalloped badge. Use two colors, repeat words to fill the shape, allow vertical words or rearrange the composition.
Which sizes and file formats can I download?
Download PNG at 1×–4×, or SVG and PDF with vector outlines. PNGs are limited to 8192 px per side and 16 million pixels overall. Choose transparent or white backgrounds; the checkerboard is never exported.
Use bundled fonts or upload a static TTF, OTF or WOFF file up to 5 MB. Uploaded fonts stay in this browser; the exported SVG and PDF contain letter outlines rather than an embedded font.
