What you can make and how to use it
Create a custom crossword from words you are teaching or revising. This crossword maker accepts written clues and optional picture clues, with online solving and printable puzzles plus an answer key. It is useful for topic vocabulary, foreign-language words and a short end-of-lesson review.
How to get started
- Enter up to 24 answers and give each a written clue or a picture. You can paste a word list with tab-separated clues.
- Review the generated grid. All words need to connect; if no complete grid fits, adjust your list or try a new arrangement.
- Start the activity to solve the crossword online, or download the worksheet PDF with an optional answer key.
Common questions
Can crossword answers include accents and spaces?
Accented letters are retained. Spaces and punctuation are removed from grid answers, so check how phrases appear in the preview. Your written clues can still use normal sentences.
Can I save my activity for another lesson?
Yes. Save a project in this browser or download a project backup to open later. A backup is useful when moving devices or clearing browser storage. Shared links are independent copies; later changes and results do not sync.
