Choose the case and weight your headline needs
Oswald reworks the condensed Gothic tradition for digital screens. Bebas Neue is a display design suited to headline work. Try both for a poster title or a narrow cover heading; compare the actual width of your phrase rather than choosing from the font name alone.
Begin with capitals in Regular, then add a mixed-case date or subtitle. Oswald offers lowercase forms and multiple native weights. The Bebas Neue face here is Regular; a Bold or Italic setting may be simulated by the browser. Keep both in Regular for the first comparison.
Check gaps around A and V, punctuation and repeated vertical strokes. Leave supporting paragraphs to a body font. Print the sample sheet at actual size to judge the headline on paper, then use your preferred font in the text generator.
Try a heading, a name or a sentence from your project. Compare how each typeface handles capitals, punctuation and longer words. The same numeric size preserves differences in letter height and width between fonts.
How can I compare fonts with my own text and print a sample sheet?
Replace the example with your text, choose up to twenty fonts and set the font size. Select A4 or US Letter, then choose Download handout PDF. Each sample is labeled with its font name. Short samples share a sheet where space allows; longer text continues onto more pages at the same font size.
How is this different from the text generator?
This tool gives you compact font samples and a comparison handout. Choose “Use this font” when you are ready to add colors, backgrounds or padding and export a finished graphic. The text generator’s combined PDF keeps one design per page.
Will all my samples fit on one sheet?
Short samples can share one sheet. The handout keeps each sample together when it fits, and continues longer samples onto new pages with the font name repeated. It preserves your font size instead of shrinking individual fonts. Exports support up to 100 pages.
What about missing characters or bold and italic?
Some font families do not contain all characters or styles. Your browser may use another font for unsupported characters or simulate bold and italic. Simulated styles are noted beside samples and in the handout. Check the characters you plan to use before choosing your font.
Is my text saved when I switch tools?
Using “Compare these fonts” or “Use this font” temporarily carries your text and settings within this browser tab. The transfer is removed when the other tool reads it, expires after ten minutes, and is never added to the URL or sent to FontStyleLab. Ordinary visits start with example text.
